Anyone familiar with the Licensing Trust business model will be aware that most have lost historic trading advantages/ He came into the scenario where traditions needed to be challenged and corporate culture needed to change. Whilst he has performed extremely well in that change environment, it would be a mistake and serious injustice to describe him as a change manager, he is much much more.
In business Gordon has one eye fixed firmly on the bottom line, whilst the other is quite visionary…. …….Gordon’s leadership revolves around empowerment. He encourages people to take both responsibility and to extend their comfort zones. He is very supportive in helping people with their personal development.

Following the sale of the Waldorf Group to the Daiwa Group we were seriously considering Gordon as CEO of Australia and New Zealand. The Only reason we did not progress this option was the importance of the New Zealand operation to the Group’s revenue and profitability (at that stage it was in the range of 55%) and the board wished that Gordon will remain in New Zealand…..”
